Alan has been in the Health and Social care industry since 1994 when he was a member of a family owned Partnership Est.1986 of a Health and Social care provider called Nexus Direct. Nexus Direct had a variety of Elderly and Learning Disability residential services within its Portfolio but in 1990 the partnership decided to focus on Learning disability services and made the decision to no longer provided Elderly residential care.

In 2013 the partnership dissolved due to the retirement of the other partnership members and Alan became the sole owner and Nominated Individual of the business renaming it Nexus Programme LTD. In 2014 Alan expanded the residential services, by purchasing another residential care home and developed a supported living service to add to the Nexus Programme LTD portfolio. Alan is actively involved in the Support and care of our Service users and regularly, meets with Service users to ensure quality assurance of the homes they reside in.

Joanne’s journey into health and social care started as a community and domiciliary carer at 18 years old. Joanne then moved into a Residential Learning disability care home as a Support worker before moving into working within children’s services. Joanne worked with young people with social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties and associated learning disabilities. Joanne in 2009 using her skills and knowledge base joined Nexus Direct as Team leader and has worked her way up to a Senior and then Service Manager. Joanne became a registered Manager for NPL in March 2020. Joanne has a Level 5 Diploma in Adult residential leadership and Management in health and social care. Joanne in January 2022 took on the dual registered manager’s role for our Complex needs services.

I started my career in care in 1992, working with young adults with learning disabilities, autistic spectrum disorders and challenging behaviour. In 1994 I became a Registered Manager and held multiple registrations with CQC until 2023. Across my career I have work in the fields of social care, Children’s Services, Acquired Brain Injury and Community and Domiciliary Services. With Nexus Programme Ltd, I set up and developed our Supported Living Service and now oversee all our new properties for this service. I am currently the Director of Care and Housing Development. Outside work, I am an archer and set up an archery club in local area, I love music, art and my garden.

Raul came into Social care after leaving the Romanian Army and emigrating to the UK. Raul has a wealth of experience and has worked his way through a variety of roles within Nexus Programme LTD starting as a Senior Team Leader in our Residential services in December 2018 and progressing to Service Manager of our Supported Living services in January 2021 before receiving his Registered Manager’s Status in January 2023. Raul has a Level 5 Diploma in Adults Residential leadership and Management and works with individuals in Supported living and also provides Outreach services for those who have move into Independent living.

Marie has worked in social care for over 20 years and has lots of experience supporting people with learning disabilities, complex needs and Autism. Starting her career as a support worker before taking on senior and deputy manager roles, she progressed to become Registered Home Manager in 2017. She achieved her Level 5 Leadership and Management Award in 2019 and is now a dual Manager at Nexus for Ashlea and Birch House.

Robert Mycroft joined Nexus Programme Ltd after accumulating over 30 years of experience in social care. He began his career as a support worker and has since held various positions in different organizations, including Registered Manager, Multi-site Manager, specialist support manager, and Behaviour Consultant. Robert is a practicing member of the UK Society for Behaviour Analysis.

Throughout his career, Robert has overseen services for individuals with learning and physical disabilities, as well as autism. He has worked to transition people away from traditional service models, such as registered care homes and Assessment and Treatment Units (ATUs), toward more community-based support and individualised service designs. He is passionate about empowering individuals to take control of their lives and live their best lives.

As the Operations Director at Nexus Programme Ltd, Robert's role is diverse. He is responsible for the operations team and ensuring the delivery of high-quality services for the individuals supported by Nexus Programme. Additionally, he serves as our Positive Behaviour Support Consultant, dedicated to providing behavioral support to those with complex needs in order to reduce behaviors seen as challenging and enable them to achieve a fulfilling life.

Outside of work, Robert enjoys trying new foods and cycling. He even completed a 155-mile cycle ride over two days without any prior training.
